"Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk" is not only concerts, creative meetings, exhibitions, dance projects, and film festivals. An unchanging attribute of the holiday is the city of masters and craftsmen, as well as the street art fest "At Seven Winds"
The city transforms into one large creative platform for several days. Music and dance can be heard at every step, and the trading and craft rows stretch for several kilometers. Everyone who comes to the festival inevitably walks through the rows of crafts and souvenirs to take a small piece of the arts forum as a keepsake.
Journalists from "Arshanka" strolled through the festival city and immersed themselves in the atmosphere of the holiday.
Traditionally, the most active participation in the "City of Masters" is taken by Orsha craftsmen. The masters of the Orsha House of Crafts present their products made of leather, clay, and straw. Bright towels, bags, and souvenirs with the festival symbol, jewelry, and much more from the territorial center of social services have been familiar to festival guests for several years. And near the tent of the Center for Folk Creativity and Crafts of the town of Kopyss, as always, there are many visitors. The products of Kopyss craftsmen are popular far beyond the borders of the republic.
Similarly, canned goods and meat products from the Orsha Meat Processing Plant are in high demand. No one could pass by the exhibition of meat products in the form of a cake and a map of Belarus without stopping. They received many admiring reviews from festival guests. The enterprise's area was also visited by the chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee Alexander Subbotin.
This year, the courtyard of the Orsha district is also widely represented. Employees of the district Culture Center "Victory" presented a platform for traditional flax processing. They showed how our ancestors used hand tools to obtain yarn from flax, which was then woven into finished products. The presentation sparked genuine interest among festival guests. By the way, the employees of the RCC not only carefully preserve and restore traditions but also pass them on to the younger generation so that they are not lost.
It was crowded at the puppet theater of the "Orekhovsk Culture House" branch. Here, performances based on the myths of our region were shown for children. This is the only puppet theater in the Orsha region. And, by the way, the very structure of the theater is covered with linen processed in the traditional way.
