A resident of the Sennensky district complained to the prosecutor's office about a leaking roof — the roof was repaired.
The prosecutor's office of the Senno district helped a family restore their violated housing rights - at the request of the prosecutor, a quality roof repair of the house was carried out. This was reported by BELTA with reference to the information service of the Vitebsk region prosecutor's office.
A local resident approached the district prosecutor's office for a personal appointment regarding the improper provision of housing and communal services due to repeated roof leaks in a multi-apartment residential building. According to the Technical Code of Practice "Technical condition and technical maintenance of buildings and structures. Basic requirements," defects in the roofing (leaks) must be eliminated within a day.
The prosecutor's staff member visited the site, inspected the applicant's apartment, and recorded the roof covering leak, the ingress of atmospheric precipitation into the living quarters, which, as a consequence, contributed to the dampening and damage of the ceiling, wallpaper, and other property, as well as the forced disconnection of electricity to prevent short circuits.
The applicant had repeatedly contacted the Dispatch Service since September 2023 regarding the roof leak; however, the roof leak issue had not been resolved. The justified appeal of the woman to the district prosecutor's office was the result of the prolonged inaction of the housing and communal services workers regarding the quality repair of the residential building's roof, which led to the flooding of the applicant's apartment, where three minor children reside.
To protect the rights and interests of the citizens living in the apartment, the prosecutor of the Senno district submitted a representation to the State Unitary Enterprise "Senno Housing and Communal Services," demanding that current repairs be made to the roofing. The act of prosecutorial oversight was executed, violations of housing legislation were eliminated - the residents of the apartment were provided with proper living conditions.
