Issues related to housing and communal services, landscaping, leasing a lake, using family capital, and more were addressed during a personal reception of citizens by the Assistant to the President – Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Sergey Levkovich.
Two residents of Vitebsk, living in a multi-storey building on Titova Street, came to the reception with the assistant to the President. One of them, who lives on the first floor, shared the problems faced by the residents:
– Due to a leak in the basement, there is an unbearable smell in the apartments. Recently, there was a failure in the sewage system – all its contents ended up in the toilet and the bathroom. The emergency service fixed the issues and cleared the external networks.
The chairman of the city executive committee, Alexey Geraev, confirmed that the problem is known, and the external networks were indeed checked. However, according to him, the situation requires further attention.
– Violations are often identified in this building when foreign objects are extracted from the sewage system, – he noted.
– Some neighbors use the sewage system as a trash can, and it is difficult to find those responsible for this. Our task is to convince residents to use the benefits of civilization correctly. If emergencies do occur, services must respond promptly, – Sergey Levkovich emphasized the importance of the quick response of utility services in this case.
The Assistant to the President instructed to develop measures to eliminate the unpleasant smell from the basement and apartments.
The second resident, a mother of many children, raised the issue of the possibility of using maternity capital to purchase a house.
– I am raising six children alone, and I would like to buy a small house so they can spend time in nature and harden, as the children often get sick, – she said.
A representative of the committee for labor, employment, and social protection of the regional executive committee explained that maternity capital had already been partially used, but there remains the possibility for early use of the remaining amount. However, for this, it is necessary for the applicant to be registered as in need of better housing conditions. In this specific situation, the woman already owns two apartments in Vitebsk in the Bilevo microdistrict and on Titova Street.
– The state has fulfilled its obligations to provide your family with housing, – noted the Assistant to the President. He added that for purchasing a summer house, the woman should consider other options, such as a loan, and also pay attention to other directions for using maternity capital that may be equally important.
