Attention to individuals crossing the State border of the Republic of Belarus!
The Law of the Republic of Belarus dated 21.07.2008 No. 419-Z "On the State Border of the Republic of Belarus" (hereinafter referred to as the Law) provides definitions for concepts such as "checkpoint", "regime at checkpoints".
A checkpoint is a territory (water area) within a railway station, river port, airport, open for international communications (international flights), as well as another specially designated and equipped area of land where the passage of individuals, vehicles, and goods across the State Border is carried out.
The regime at checkpoints refers to the order of entry (access) into checkpoints, movement within checkpoints, and exit (departure) from them of individuals and vehicles, including the rights, obligations, and restrictions for individuals present at the checkpoints.
The regime at checkpoints is established to create the necessary conditions for carrying out border and other types of control, and is monitored by the border service and customs authorities (in simplified checkpoints – by the border service) within their competence.
According to the Law, at checkpoints, it is prohibited to:
take photos and videos;
make mobile phone calls that hinder the implementation of border and other types of control;
leave cash in documents submitted for inspection;
change the parking places of vehicles without the permission of border service officers and customs officials;
perform other actions that hinder the implementation of border and other types of control.
We would like to emphasize that the requirements of border service officers and customs officials regarding compliance with the regime at checkpoints are mandatory for all individuals present at the checkpoints.
Violating the regime at checkpoints across the State Border of the Republic of Belarus entails administrative responsibility in the form of a fine of up to 50 basic units with or without deportation.
