During the harvesting campaign, agricultural enterprises are under special control by rescuers.  It is important not only to harvest the crop but also to preserve it. 

EMERCOM employees carry out fire prevention work. Special attention is paid to compliance with fire safety regulations. Non-compliance with the daily maintenance of equipment, untimely cleaning of territories and aggregates, conducting hot work near harvesting and storage areas, violations of fuel refueling rules, careless smoking — these violations most often lead to fires at agricultural facilities.

To avoid losses, the manager must carry out a set of measures. Appoint responsible persons for fire safety training, including for harvesting machines and aggregates, organization of fire safety regulations, employees must undergo fire safety briefing and training on fire-technical minimum.   

The fire safety readiness of vehicles for harvesting work, as well as grain storage facilities before loading, must be checked by a commission. During the harvesting of grain, combines must be ready to go into the field, including being equipped with primary fire extinguishing means. The exhaust pipes of the engines of self-propelled chassis, mowers, tractors, cars, and combines used for harvesting grain and preparing coarse fodder must be equipped with functioning spark arresters. The presence of spark arresters is also mandatory for tractors engaged in plowing if these works are carried out simultaneously with harvesting near areas with unharvested grain or coarse fodder. It is important to timely clean the surfaces of the equipment from dust, soot, and accumulated straw mass.

Fire safety requirements must also be observed in premises intended for the storage and drying of grain.
