Judo and sambo veterans met with the Orsha youth
At the Orsha Regional Sports Medicine Dispensary, a meeting took place that became a true bridge between the glorious past and the promising future of the Orsha martial arts school.
Veterans of judo and sambo informally interacted with students and graduates of the district branch of the Vitebsk Regional Sports School of the Trade Unions for Wrestling "Bogatyr".
The founders and keepers of traditions: masters of sports of the USSR Valery Budrevich and Anatoly Lyutenko enthusiastically shared with the youth the origins: how the judo-sambo branch was created in the region. Their stories were complemented by the memories of the master of sports of the USSR Vladimir Ryzhik and the coach-teacher master of sports of the USSR Valery Shchemelov, who have gone through a long and glorious sports path.
The meeting was filled not only with memories. The chairman of the Council of the Vitebsk Regional Branch of the Belarusian Judo Federation Vitaly Aleshkevich thanked the coaching staff for their selfless work and the high results of their students, as well as awarded the best ones.
An important event was the presentation of a certificate for strengthening the material and technical base of the branch from the chairman of the Orsha District Committee of the Belarusian Trade Union of Workers of State and Other Institutions Tatyana Tishkova. This support will help 85 current students of the branch achieve new heights.
Strong roots and continuity of generations are the key to future victories. The successful graduates present at the meeting Artyom Sapegin, Yevgeny Morov and Polina Gramotneva are the best proof of this.
The highlight of the meeting was the demonstration performances of the young athletes of the branch. The guys showcased their technique, strength, and will to win to the guests, once again proving that the traditions laid down by the veterans live on and develop. The applause from the audience was the best assessment of their skill and hard training.
