A veteran from Orsha celebrated her 95th birthday
Veteran of the Great Patriotic War from Orsha, Zinaida Illarionovna Sinkevich celebrated her 95th anniversary.
On her birthday, she was personally congratulated by the head of the Orsha district Igor Moroz.
During the war, Zinaida Illarionovna was a liaison for a partisan unit. Afterward, she graduated from the Vitebsk Veterinary Institute, worked at the Orsha Meat Processing Plant, and later taught specialized meat-related subjects at the Orsha State College of Food. She has been awarded numerous honors. Despite her venerable age, Zinaida Illarionovna remains optimistic and only regrets that the years of her life have flown by quickly. The fate of the Orsha resident, who survived the war, hunger, and devastation, was not easy; therefore, addressing the youth, she asked them to cherish the peace and independence of their country and to value what has been created by several generations of Belarusians.
The chairman of the district executive committee wished the celebrant good health, a strong spirit, and to always be an example of resilience and patriotism for all of us. The director of the territorial center for social services Ekaterina Murenkova, and students from the School of Peace – Secondary School No. 8, who prepared poems for Zinaida Illarionovna, also joined in the congratulations. The celebrant, in turn, read a poem of her own composition to the guests.
On this day, the Orsha resident was congratulated by: the Orsha District Council of Veterans, representatives of the Orsha College of Food, relatives, and friends. The congratulations to Zinaida Illarionovna Sinkevich became the final chord of the republican charitable campaign "From the Bottom of Our Hearts" in the Orsha region. During its implementation, dozens of events took place in the region, covering hundreds of elderly residents of Orsha, patients in nursing care beds, and those living in stationary institutions.
