"Summit" of Patriotism in Vitebsk: memory routes, dialogues about the future and "Wish Tree"
The regional center is preparing to become the main venue for the large-scale patriotic gathering "Veshina", which will take place on December 13. The event is organized by the Republican Public Association "Patriots of Belarus" and is dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the formation of the association.
The start of the gathering "Veshina" will be given in one of the most iconic places in Vitebsk – at the Square of the Coat of Arms and Flag. This choice is not accidental: it was the car rallies with state symbols under the slogan "For a United Belarus" and the action "Symbol of Unity!" that became the calling card of the Republican Public Association "Patriots of Belarus" and its first successful projects. These iconic initiatives will form the basis of the current patriotic gathering.
Participants of the gathering will traditionally drive in a car rally through the streets of Vitebsk. After that, the dialogue about the past and future of native Belarus will continue at the Open Chair "Patriots of Belarus. Let’s Preserve History Together", which will be organized at the V.I. Lenin Regional Library.
A bright finale of the day will be the thematic concert "DNA Code", which will take place at the Regional Palace of Children and Youth. Here, there will also be a solemn award ceremony for the most active participants and partners. An important part of the gathering will also be the official start of the charity marathon "Republican Christmas Tree of Wishes". As part of this action, gifts will be collected for children in orphanages across the country.
The chairman of the Vitebsk regional organization "Patriots of Belarus", deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Babichev emphasized the special significance of the upcoming gathering for the northern region:
– Our statehood was born in Vitebsk region. This is the homeland of our national leader, thanks to whom we live in a prosperous country! We must preserve it and pass it on to our descendants. I am confident that the event will be sincere and touch the hearts of every participant, — he noted.
The program of the gathering:
11:00 – action "Symbol of Unity" at the Square of the State Flag;
11:30 – car rally "For a United Belarus", starting from the Square of the State Flag (Prospect of Victory) with further movement along the route: Builders' Prospect – Charnyakhouski Prospect – Lenin Street – Zamkovaya Street – Kalinina Street – Shcherbakova-Naberezhnaya Street, 8;
12:00 – open chair "Patriots of Belarus. Let’s Preserve History Together" at the V.I. Lenin Regional Library;
14:00 – thematic concert "DNA Code", award ceremony and solemn start of the charity action "Republican Christmas Tree of Wishes" in Vitebsk region. The event will take place at the Regional Palace of Children and Youth at the address: Shcherbakova-Naberezhnaya Street.
