At Vitebsk Gymnasium No. 8, a preventive action "Safety is..." took place in an interesting game format. The heroes of the day were the first-graders. Many of them still do not know how to turn on a gas stove, so knowledge about safety in working with gas equipment is timely and necessary for them. Moreover, it is acquired in the form of a quest, games, and rewarded with sweet gifts.
First-grader Ksyusha Belousova was one of the first to complete all the quest tasks and shared her impressions of the interesting challenges:
– The hardest for me was the contest where I had to find the hose, the toy car, and the easiest was to determine where the gas smell was coming from. I liked everything very much.
To make the holiday successful, the organizers – Vitebskoblgaz and the branch of the State Energy and Gas Supervision in the Vitebsk region – had to work hard. This action is being held in the republic for the first time and is aimed at preventing the safe use of electrical and thermal installations, as well as gas equipment in the run-up to the autumn-winter period.
– We have signed a roadmap for cooperation with Gymnasium No. 8, – said Svetlana Volkova, Deputy General Director for Ideological Work and Social Issues of Vitebskoblgaz. – We have engineering classes, and this is not our first time here as guests, and high school students have visited the enterprise.
Now we decided to preempt the first-graders. They need not only to be told about safety but also to be shown, to play. And our employees, not invited actors from outside, play with them. Everything we present is the developments of Vitebskoblgaz.
– The Ministry of Energy is currently conducting the action "Safety is...", and all organizations that are part of the Ministry of Energy have joined it, – noted Andrei Vasilevsky, director of the branch of the State Energy and Gas Supervision in the Vitebsk region. – We must tell children about the dangers that may await them when using electrical, thermal, and gas appliances.
The first-graders had a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the technologies of the future. Specialists from the production management "ITGas" based at Vitebskoblgaz transported the children into a virtual world, demonstrating a robot dog and other modern developments that make the use of gas even safer and more efficient.
The children prepared in advance for this event. For a month, they drew a safe house, held contests within their classes. As a result, 16 best works were selected, which became the winners.
After the interactive program, the children were awaited by a performance with growth puppets, created and staged by the enterprise's employees. Not a single child left the holiday without a gift and a good mood.
