On January 1 at 00:01, a girl weighing 3 kg 700 g and measuring 53 cm was born in the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Maternity Hospital – this is the sixth child in the family. Thanks to the coordinated actions of the medical staff, the baby was born safely.
At the same time, in the Vitebsk City Clinical Maternity Hospital No. 2, a girl weighing 3 kg 575 g and measuring 53 cm was born. According to specialists, the delivery was also urgent, and everything ended well. The amazing coincidences do not stop there – both families, who learned about the birth of their daughters in the first minute of the new year, are from the Senno District.
To present gifts to the mothers and newborns on behalf of the President ahead of the Christmas holidays, the chairman of the regional Council of Deputies Dmitry Demidov and the head of the main health department of the regional executive committee Mikhail Vishnevetsky arrived.
– It is becoming a wonderful tradition that the first citizens of our country are born in the Vitebsk region, in our maternity hospitals, and the year 2026 is no exception, – noted Dmitry Demidov. – There is a special symbolism in the fact that in the Year of the Belarusian Woman, declared by the President literally a few minutes before, the first to be born were indeed girls. We are fulfilling an honorable mission by presenting gifts on behalf of the President of our country to the families, the parents of these children.
The head of the deputy corps of Vitebsk region expressed confidence that the children born at such a unique moment will have an interesting, bright, and fulfilling life. He wished the young parents not to forget the way to the maternity hospital, emphasizing that they are a good example for other families. After all, the greatest happiness in the life of any family is the birth of children.
– No material values can replace the love of children, the love for children, the care for them, because this is our national spiritual values, our bonds, and our happiness, – emphasized Dmitry Demidov.
Mom Angelica with newborn Violeta was met by the entire large family of Atrashkevich from the regional maternity hospital: dad Roman and five children – 16-year-old Zalina, 12-year-old Timur, 8-year-old Artur, 4-year-old Denis, and 2-year-old Karolina. Now the family has three boys and three girls. By the way, both parents are from large families, so children are valued and planned for them.
Elizaveta Goncharova, the mother of the "New Year baby-26" born in Vitebsk City Maternity Hospital No. 2, shared that the name for her daughter was already prepared in advance – the baby was named Vladislava. This is a desired firstborn in the family, and at home, the girl is already awaited by her loving dad, grandmothers, grandfathers, and numerous relatives.
– I pass the baton to all our women, – said the touched Angelica Atrashkevich at the solemn reception and congratulations conveyed from the head of state. – I wish to give birth to babies without fear of becoming parents of many children.
