The Belarus Cup in trampoline jumping has started in Vitebsk
Today in Vitebsk, the Cup of Belarus in trampoline jumping has started. More than 100 athletes from all regions of the country are participating in the competitions.
As emphasized by the chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies Dmitry Demidov, trampoline jumping is a significant sport for Vitebsk. The high results shown by the students of the trampoline jumping school are a source of pride not only for the region but for the entire country.
- Our athletes prove that nothing is impossible, - said Dmitry Demidov. - They set high goals for themselves and achieve them. An example of this is the victories of our compatriots at the Olympic Games and other major international competitions. A feature of the Cup of Belarus is that it includes both novice trampolinists taking their first steps in the sport and celebrated athletes. I wish everyone high results, and I encourage young trampolinists to take inspiration from the champions. So that beginners, looking at skilled athletes, understand that hard work helps to achieve great heights.
The head of the regional council of deputies also noted that trampoline jumping is a spectacular sport. After all, athletes, performing the most complex elements, challenge the laws of gravity with their skills.
During the opening ceremony, Dmitry Demidov presented honorary certificates from the regional Council of Deputies to the head coach of the national trampoline team Olga Vlasova and two-time Olympic champion Ivan Litvinovich.
As reported by the director of Vitebsk SDYUSHOR No. 1 Svetlana Pashkovskaya, the Cup of Belarus is one of the main events in our country. At the same time, trampolinists are testing their new programs and more complex elements ahead of international competitions. By the way, the next stage of the World Cup will take place in Italy in April.
Two-time winner of the European Youth Championship Ivan Melnikov plans to perform a new program at the Cup of Belarus.
- Vitebsk has excellent conditions for training and competitions – among the best in Europe, - said a Gomel resident to "VV". - I am aiming to make it to the top three at the Cup of Belarus, as the competitive level here is high. I plan to perform four triple somersaults.
