In Vitebsk, the Belarusian trampoline jumping championship has started
The championship of Belarus in trampoline jumping has started in Vitebsk. More than 70 athletes from across the country are competing in several types of events.
The Deputy Minister of Sports and Tourism of Belarus, Oleg Andreychik, addressed the attendees with a welcoming speech. He wished the participants high sports results, emphasizing that the best athletes from not only our country but also the world have gathered here.
– This is one of the starts that will influence the upcoming World Championship, – said two-time Olympic champion Ivan Litvinovich to "VV". – We are showing approximately the same combinations that we will perform in November in Spain.
One of the highlights of the championship of Belarus is the mixed pairs competitions. This relatively new type of event has been introduced by the International Gymnastics Federation to popularize trampoline jumping. It adds extra spectacle to the tournaments. However, it has not yet been included in the Olympic program.
– In the mixed pairs competitions, I will be jumping with a new partner – Vitebsk resident Yana Lebedeva, – continues Ivan Litvinovich. – We have been training together for about a month. We will try to impress the judges. Of course, I would like to win in all types of events, but the strongest will prevail.
The Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee, Vyacheslav Durnov, emphasized that the championship of Belarus is of utmost importance for all its participants:
– In the Vitebsk region, there are long-standing winning traditions in trampoline jumping, supported by highly qualified specialists from SDYUSHOR No. 1. Why are these competitions important? Here, alongside experienced athletes, youth participates. Everyone has their own plans for this tournament. We hope they will accomplish their tasks.
– The championship of Belarus is one of the main starts of the season, – shared her opinion Vitebsk resident Anna Krivoguz. – The level of competition here is very high. I have been preparing for this championship for about two months. I will mainly perform double somersaults. I am counting on a prize place.
The competitions will take place over three days. Today is the preliminary program, the finals will be on Saturday.
