The regional pedagogical conference of education and science workers was held in Vitebsk
The KZ "Vitebsk" gathered more than a thousand education sector workers from all over Vitebsk region. On the eve of the new school year, the traditional regional August conference took place, where the results of the past school year were summarized, tasks for the future were set, opinions were shared, and experiences were exchanged.
The head of the main education department of the regional executive committee, Dmitry Khoma, emphasized that the next five-year plan in Belarus will be dedicated to quality, starting with the Year of Improvement, the goal of which is to enhance the quality of life for citizens. He noted that investments in education create long-term positive effects for the economy, health, and social stability. This year, two new kindergartens opened in Vitebsk and Novopolotsk, and construction continues in Vitebsk, Lepel, and Orsha, while a family-type children's home is being built in Glubokoe.
Reference "VV". More than 92 million rubles have been allocated for capital repairs and strengthening the material and technical base of educational institutions.
The head of the department emphasized the importance of ensuring safety in educational institutions. 11 million rubles were allocated for these purposes. He noted that 30 new school buses were delivered to update the fleet.
– We must ensure the safety of students in educational institutions based on a comprehensive approach, improve the technical equipment of educational institutions with modern security systems, ensure the quality and safety of student nutrition, and organize the transportation of children strictly in accordance with the law, – stated Dmitry Khoma.
Educating worthy citizens and patriots is a priority task. The head of the main department thanked all stakeholders for their systematic approach to civic-patriotic and spiritual-moral education of youth.
– Working with society is coming to the forefront. In the new school year, it is necessary to interact more actively with the parent community, – he concluded.
The chairman of the regional executive committee, Alexander Subbotin, emphasized the importance of the issues discussed at the conference, noting that the formation of a harmoniously developed personality and the preparation of qualified personnel for the economy are key areas of state policy in Belarus.
The head of the region noted that a solid legal framework has been created in the country for effective career guidance and vocational training. He urged educators to help children align their abilities with the needs of the labor market.
– It is important to remember that career guidance work should include the formation of a respectful attitude towards work, – he added. – Understanding the prospects for professional development is an important incentive for targeted training and retention of personnel in their first jobs.
Alexander Subbotin pointed out the need for a more active response to the requests of regional universities for training applicants in engineering specialties and specialties in the field of animal husbandry and veterinary medicine. The effectiveness of specialized classes should become an indicator of the quality of career guidance work in educational institutions.
– Parents, children, and educators must understand that selection for a specialized class is a declaration of the student's professional intentions, – noted the head of the region. – The formal approach to the opening and functioning of such classes needs to be revised. No less than 50% of graduates should enroll in their chosen profile.
Involving youth in work is a strategic task that addresses not only employment issues but also the prevention of offenses. Alexander Subbotin emphasized the importance of engaging adolescents who are registered in various types of accounting, from low-income and large families, in employment. He expressed satisfaction that this year it was possible to significantly increase the employment rates of minors in cooperation with the committee and labor and social protection departments.
At the August conference, educators were thanked for their work, the achievements of their talented students were recognized, and certificates and monetary awards were presented to improve the material and technical base of educational institutions.
