In Vitebsk, a new enterprise of the SEZ "Vitebsk" has opened for the production of shoe soles to European standards.
– The decision to create LLC "EuroPressForm", which is 100% import-substituting, was made just over a year ago. All equipment and exclusive specialists came to us from Italy, – noted the director of LLC "EuroPressForm" Eduard Dubrovkin.
The enterprise produces aluminum molds for shoes to European standards: for summer, winter, sports, military, as well as shoes for hunters and fishermen. The production volume today is from 75 to 85 molds of various modifications per month. The markets are Belarus and Russia.
– We have already held negotiations with Chinese manufacturers, and in the next two to three months, deliveries of at least two CNC machines are planned to increase production volumes. Then we will be able to cover 90% of the needs of the footwear industry not only of Belarus but also of the post-Soviet countries, – emphasized Eduard Dubrovkin. – Representatives of large Russian footwear companies have also visited us several times and highly appreciated the quality of the produced molds. There are no analogs of such production in the post-Soviet space. We have signed contracts with more than 20 different companies, including "Belwest", Lida and Baranovichi footwear factories, "Pskov-Polymer", and others.
In just nine months, the building of an old abandoned sawmill has transformed into a new production facility. There are 12 people working here, five of whom are Italian specialists.
According to the head of the SEZ "Vitebsk" administration, Mikhail Skurat, this enterprise has many orders. This indicates that the products are in high demand.
– The SEZ "Vitebsk" is actively developing. Today, our main focus is not on quantity, but on the quality of these enterprises, where there should be high technologies, the import substitution program should be implemented, and decent wages should be provided to maintain jobs so that people work on their native land, – noted Mikhail Skurat.
