В Витебске БСЖ в преддверии учебного года организовал мероприятие для отцов, воспитывающих детей в одиночку

In Vitebsk, the BSJ, on the eve of the academic year, organized an event for fathers raising children alone.

On the eve of the new school year, a celebration with gifts for school and entertainment took place in Vitebsk, aimed at supporting fathers who are raising children on their own. The event was organized by the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the "Belarusian Union of Women" with the support of partners.

Families from all corners of the Vitebsk region gathered for the event. Each head of the family was presented with a certificate for purchasing school supplies and treats from the partner enterprises of the BUW. The organizers also prepared a rich program for children and fathers: musical performances, sweet treats, a soap bubble show, face painting, and photo zones. The life-sized puppets and quad bikes particularly delighted the children.

The Belarusian Union of Women cares not only about children and women but also about single fathers, noted the deputy chairperson of the Vitebsk Regional Organization of the BUW, Natalia Neushava:

— It is important for us to pay attention to everyone. Such events are an opportunity to meet, communicate, and share experiences.

Government officials and businesses joined the initiative. Personal support was provided by Council of the Republic member Irina Levkovich. She thanked the fathers for their courage and care for their children. Among the partners was the Orsha Meat Processing Plant, which provided families with sets of baby food.

Viktor Gridyushko from the Sharkovshchina district, who is raising two sons, shared his impressions:

— It is interesting here today for both me and the children; it is our first time at such an event. Of course, it is hard to live on one salary with two children. State assistance for the loss of a breadwinner greatly improves the situation. The certificate will also ease the financial burden ahead of September 1. Overall, it is nice to receive both attention and gifts.

The celebration was one of the first in a series of planned events for the charitable marathon of the BUW for the Day of National Unity, which will last until the Week of Parental Love. Its main goal is to provide additional care and support to all families in need of it.
