Within the framework of the subbotnik, the Orsha residents planted more than eight thousand seedlings of firs and birches
Representatives of the Orsha District Executive Committee, together with the active members of the Orsha District Branch of the Republican Public Association "Belaya Rus'" and employees of the forestry, participated in the republican subbotnik and supported the campaign "Give the forest a new life." On an area of about two hectares near the village of Krasnopoltcy of the Zubovsky Village Council, young fir and birch trees were planted – a total of about eight thousand seedlings.
Before starting work, participants underwent safety training and listened to recommendations from forestry specialists on how to properly plant trees so that they take root well. Experienced foresters explained in detail how deep to plant seedlings, how to carefully spread the roots, and how to compact the soil around them to avoid damaging the young plants.
Afterward, everyone received the necessary tools and planting material and dispersed to their plots. Despite the inclement weather, the atmosphere in the clearing was truly warm and united.
– Every planted tree is a piece of our future, – noted the chief specialist of the ideological work and youth affairs department of the Orsha District Executive Committee Tatyana Yaskevich. – It is very important not just to participate in such campaigns, but to understand their significance. The forest is our wealth, a source of clean air and the beauty of our native nature. Therefore, we must not only use the gifts of the forest but also take care of its restoration.
Forestry specialists emphasized that the forest fund needs constant renewal, especially in areas where trees have suffered from windfalls, fires, or aging plantations. Such campaigns help not only to replenish lost areas but also to instill in residents a love for nature and a responsible attitude towards the environment.
– It is important for every person to understand: a subbotnik is not just an obligation, but an opportunity to do a good deed with your own hands, – said the deputy director for ideological work of the Orsha Forestry Vadim Pinchukov. – And it doesn't matter what exactly you do: planting trees, cleaning up garbage, or painting a fence. The main thing is to contribute to the common cause. Nature will respond to us with gratitude if we are attentive to it.
The territory of the forest massif has transformed, and a young green forest has appeared in place of the vacant plot. Participants in the campaign shared that they feel a special pride seeing the results of their labor and understanding that in a few years, real fir-birch groves will rustle here.
