Within the final collegium of the main health department of the Vitebsk regional executive committee, new facilities were opened in Vitebsk.
The opening of the computer tomography room at the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Cardiology Center and the magnetic resonance tomography room at the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Oncology Dispensary was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee Vyacheslav Durnov, the Deputy Minister of Health Boris Androsyuk, and the Head of the Main Department of Health of the Regional Executive Committee Mikhail Vishnevetsky.
– With the commissioning of the CT machine, it will be significantly easier to conduct diagnostics and more effective treatment will be provided. In our center, consultative-diagnostic assistance is provided annually to up to 35 thousand people. These are not only residents of the Vitebsk region but also of the republic as a whole, – explained the chief physician of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Cardiology Center Natalia Podolinskaya. – The presence of a computer tomograph with a cardio package will expand the diagnostic capabilities of our specialists and improve the quality of high-tech specialized medical care. For example, it will help to detect ischemic heart disease, pulmonary artery thromboembolism, determine the presence of clots in the cavities of the heart or vessels, and in other clinical situations at early stages.
The commissioning of the new magnetic resonance tomography machine at the oncology dispensary (VOKOD) will reduce the waiting time for MRI examinations for primary outpatient patients, representatives of the media were informed at VOKOD. It is planned to separate the flows of outpatient and inpatient patients and patients from central district hospitals. A remote injector will allow for accurate diagnosis of pathological formations during contrast enhancement.
– The oncology dispensary uses the most advanced technologies in its work to assist patients. A number of advantages will be provided by the new equipment that has been put into operation, – noted the chief physician of VOKOD Anzhelika Tomchina. – Thanks to this, the throughput will significantly increase, as there are four workstations for doctors, images are used with artificial intelligence, and good visualization. All these functions will allow us to carry out diagnostics. And perhaps the most important thing is that MRI examinations will become more accessible, primarily for oncology patients.
The equipment, the chief physician reported, was purchased by the Ministry of Health, and local authorities provided significant assistance in financing construction and installation works and in putting the equipment into operation.
