On the eve of the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, the military‑patriotic club "Phoenix" began its work at Secondary School No. 2 in the city of Orsha named after B. L. Higrin
The club was established with the assistance of the 407th Guards Order of Alexander Nevsky and Bogdan Khmelnitsky II degree artillery group (Lepel District).
The choice of direction was not made by chance. Since June 2023, the school has been named after the Hero of the Soviet Union Boris Lvovich Khigrin – a participant in the Great Patriotic War, commander of the 462nd artillery regiment of the 13th army of the Western Front.
The guys will engage in physical and military training, get acquainted with equipment and armaments, study the basics of military specialties, and the history of the country through the glorious examples of the feats of their ancestors.
With welcoming words, the military commissar of the Orsha and Dubrovno districts Aleksandr Marchenko, the deputy commander of the military unit for ideological work Alexey Birilo, and the school director Elena Sakovich addressed the club members. Among the guests were also a deputy of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Mikhno and the deputy head of the Orsha District Educational and Methodological Cabinet Tatyana Zyuzko.
According to established tradition, the significant event was also attended by representatives of other military-patriotic clubs in the district – "Vympel" and "Yastreby".
