In Orsha, at the city hospital No. 1 named after Semashko, knee joint implantation surgeries will begin soon.

For this, the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics provided the healthcare institution with a set of installation tools.

In 2024, 1654 hip joint prostheses and 700 knee joint endoprostheses were performed in Vitebsk region.

– We believe that the level of training of the Orsha traumatologists-orthopedists is quite high and the current problem can be addressed at the interdistrict level, – noted the director of the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Traumatology and Orthopedics Mikhail Gerasimenko. – We conducted rounds, consulted the most severe patients, and assessed the material and technical base. In other words, we took a comprehensive approach to evaluating the potential available in this hospital for treating traumatological and orthopedic patients.
