In Orsha, at the Memorial to the Warriors-Liberators, partisans, and underground fighters who perished during the Great Patriotic War, a solemn rally was held dedicated to the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus.
Representatives of teams from enterprises, organizations, and institutions, activists of parties, public youth, veteran, and military-patriotic associations, as well as local residents participated in it.
– In this sacred place, we pay tribute to the warriors of all times, – noted the first deputy chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee Sergiy Pats while speaking with journalists. – These include the fighters of the people's militia, veterans of the Great Patriotic War, and fighters of local conflicts in hot spots on the approaches to the border of our Motherland. The Day of Defender of the Fatherland is a holiday for all who have linked their lives with loyalty to duty and boundless love for the country.
As per tradition, the participants of the rally laid flowers and wreaths at the memorial in memory of the fallen warriors.
