A solemn rally was held in Orsha, dedicated to the Day of Internationalist Warriors

In Orsha a solemn meeting was held dedicated to the Day of Internationalist Warriors – a date that is forever inscribed in the history of courage, valor, and fidelity to military duty.

At the monument to internationalist warriors, representatives of the district leadership, public associations and political parties, clergy, labor collectives, student youth, as well as those for whom this day became not just a page in the calendar – Afghan warriors and their families, families of soldiers who died while fulfilling their international duty, gathered.

On this memorable day, words of gratitude and sorrow were spoken, memories of years of service far from the Motherland, of combat brotherhood, and the high price of peace. A moment of silence was observed by those present in honor of the memory of those who did not return home, who remained faithful to their oath until the end.

– Dear veterans of combat operations, dear residents of Orsha! Today we bow our heads before the feat of those who fulfilled their military duty beyond the borders of the Motherland, – addressed the participants of the meeting the deputy chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee Sergey Shurov. – You have gone through harsh trials, preserving honor, dignity, and fidelity to your oath. Your courage is an example of true patriotism, strength of spirit, and devotion to the Fatherland. We express our sincere gratitude to you, internationalist warriors, and special words of appreciation to the families of the fallen heroes.

After the official part, the participants of the meeting laid flowers at the monument as a sign of deep gratitude and respect. Red carnations were placed at the foot of the monument, becoming a symbol of remembrance for the fallen and gratitude to the living.

The solemn and at the same time mournful chord of the event was the salute from weapons. The volleys echoed along the banks of the Dnieper, reminding of the military roads, the resilience of soldiers, and the price of the peaceful sky above.
