An interdistrict seminar on experience exchange was held in Orsha between representatives of local authorities and self-government.
A regional seminar on experience exchange between representatives of local government and self-government of the Orsha and Verkhnedvinsk districts took place in Orsha. The purpose of the meeting was to strengthen cooperation, exchange best practices in working with the population, improving territories, and developing rural settlements.
The delegation from Verkhnedvinsk began its acquaintance with the Orsha land by visiting the Pishchalavichy village council. Here, the guests visited the ZAO "Kalina", a well-known enterprise in the region that produces natural herbal teas. The delegation members got acquainted with the production process, tasted the products, and discussed with the management of the enterprise issues of interaction with local authorities, as well as ways to support private business in the countryside. In addition, the seminar participants visited local trade facilities and a feldsher-midwife station, where they discussed issues of accessibility of medical assistance in rural areas. Then a dialogue platform took place, where guests from Verkhnedvinsk met with village elders and active citizens. They discussed current issues of territory development, improvement, support for social initiatives, and enhancing the quality of life for rural residents.
After the business part, the delegation went on a sightseeing tour of Orsha. The first stop was the Square of State Symbols of the Republic of Belarus, after which they laid flowers at the Mound of Immortality in the Heroes' Park. The guests visited the Jesuit collegium, the ethnographic museum "Mill", and the ancient Orsha hillfort.
The next item on the agenda was the agrotown Babinichi, one of the largest in the Vitebsk region. Here, the delegation visited the Orsha poultry farm, where the director of the enterprise Vladimir Prokhorov gave a detailed account of the production process, the system of social guarantees for workers, and the patronage assistance provided by the farm to the urban settlement of Babinichi.
After that, the guests drove through the renovated streets of the agrotown. The chairwoman of the village council Marina Matveeva talked about how the settlement transformed for the district holiday "Dazhynki". After that, the second dialogue platform took place in the village council, where representatives of the Verkhnedvinsk district, elders, and activists discussed topics related to ensuring the livelihoods of the rural population, the work of utility services, the development of territorial self-government, and involving citizens in local governance.
– The seminar became not just an exchange of experience, but also a platform for building partnerships between the districts, – noted the chairwoman of the Orsha District Council of Deputies Inna Khomutovskaya. – Such meetings help to implement effective practices in the field of self-government, strengthen interaction between authorities and residents, and contribute to the comprehensive development of regions.
The meeting concluded in the urban settlement of Kopyss, where the guests got acquainted with the social structure of the agrotown, visited local attractions, and the Trofimova spring.
