International observers are working in Orsha today

Today, international observers from the CIS mission of the electoral commission of the Pskov region of the Russian Federation arrived in Orsha.

The delegation includes the chairman of the electoral commission of the Pskov region Igor Sopov, his deputy Sergey Kulakov and the head of the legal support department of the electoral commission of the Pskov region Boris Sokolov.

In the Orsha district executive committee, they met with the district leadership and the Orsha district commission for the presidential elections of the Republic of Belarus. Then the guests went to the polling stations.

At polling station No. 38, located in Secondary School No. 13 on Ivan Yakubovsky Street, international observers from the CIS mission of the electoral commission of the Pskov region noted that the electoral process in the Orsha region is open and honest, and the elections at the polling stations are organized professionally.


– We are observing in the Republic of Belarus today, we came to Orsha, visiting the polling stations where the presidential elections are taking place. We see that the polling stations are well prepared, equipped, and the right to secret voting is upheld. We see that police and emergency services staff are on duty at the polling stations to ensure law and order and the safety of citizens. And most importantly, a festive atmosphere is created for the people. We enjoyed watching the concert organized by the teachers and students of Secondary School No. 13, – said the observer from the Russian Federation Igor Sopov.

Then the international observers went to the Orsha College of Food named after N. A. Kornačenka at polling station No. 26. They were greeted by the chairman of the commission – the director of the college, Gennady Sinyavsky.

The guests from Russia immediately noted that the polling station is fully equipped, and the necessary information about the candidates is displayed on the stands. They also talked with commission members and voters. They inquired about the opinions of Belarusian observers on how the voting is going.

The international observers also communicated with journalists.

– Belarus is our strategic partner, so when we received the invitation, we could not help but come and gladly accepted it, – said the chairman of the electoral commission of the Pskov region Igor Sopov. – The electoral process is organized at a sufficiently high level. For the people, it is a real holiday. Various creative concerts are organized at the polling stations, and buffets are operating. The presence of medical personnel and volunteers on duty is also important. It is nice to see that many adults come with children, teaching them about electoral culture.
