In Orsha, works will start on widening the railway track on Mira Street

The start is already in February. This was stated at a working meeting with general contractors and heads of construction organizations by the deputy chairman of the Orsha district executive committee, Sergey Shurov.

Let us remind you that back in 2021, during a visit by President Alexander Lukashenko to the city hospital No. 1 in Orsha, medical workers raised the issue concerning the expansion of the overpass under the railway bridge on Mira Street, which connects the Eastern and Cheremushki microdistricts. This topic is relevant for the city, as traffic jams constantly form during peak hours under the so-called bottleneck.

The project provides for the construction of an underground passage and the expansion of the road itself to four lanes by dismantling the sidewalk. It is planned to be implemented by the end of 2026.

Literally in a few weeks, a construction site will be set up near the overpass. 

During the meeting, Deputy Chairman Sergey Shurov emphasized that the road under the bridge will be fully utilized for vehicle traffic. There will be no pedestrian zones. Passage will be carried out through a tunnel. It is planned to build it under the railway embankment from the side of the tool factory.

– This project has its own features and certain complexities, – noted Sergey Alexandrovich. – There are a large number of engineering networks under the railway track, so all spring work will be carried out to relocate them from the construction site. – I would like to note that the passage under the bridge will not be completely closed. We will dismantle the existing traffic lights and install temporary ones during the construction period. Certain inconveniences when crossing this section of the road will naturally arise, but this should be understood. To bypass the overpass on Mira Street, you can use the roads from the tool factory to the village of Lipki and the Zamostye area if heading towards the railway station or through Baran to the meat processing plant. 

The general contracting organization for this project is the limited liability company "Dist" (Minsk).
