Maslenitsa celebrations took place in Orsha

Traditional Maslenitsa festivities took place in the Orsha district. Maslenitsa is a folk and hearty holiday associated with saying goodbye to winter and joyfully anticipating the approaching warmth and spring.

Many guests and residents of the city gathered in the square near the Jesuit college, where mass festivities were organized. The festive atmosphere was brought to all attendees by creative groups from the Orsha region.

Thematic sites, trade and craft rows were operational, and a play and entertainment area for children was organized, along with much more.

While some participated in games and entertainment, others tested their skills in sports competitions. The conquest of the Maslenitsa pole and the burning of the Maslenitsa effigy became the culmination of the holiday.
