В Орше прошел зимний праздник «Мороз объединяет»

The winter festival "Frost Unites" took place in Orsha

Frosty air, the thrill of ski racing, and snowy fun – this was the atmosphere today at the winter holiday "Frost Unites" at the sports complex "Olympiec" in Orsha.

The numerous participants of the holiday were welcomed by the chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee Igor Moroz, who was among the first to start the ski racing competition "Orsha Ski Trail – 2026".

The ski races were held in several categories and age groups. Men and women ran a distance of 1 km.

Among the men – workers of the structural divisions of the Orsha District Executive Committee, the head of the district Igor Moroz was unbeatable, finishing first. Second place was taken by the chairman of the Zabolotsky Village Council Vitaly Shulgin, and third place went to Vladimir Murashko, a district council deputy.

The best result among women was traditionally shown by Elena Bezlyudova – deputy head of the social support department of the labor, employment, and social protection management. Second place went to the chairman of the Orsha District Council of Deputies Inna Khomutovskaya, and the "bronze" went to the head of the sports department Snezhana Bryuzgina.

Then, on the excellently prepared ski track in the park of the sports complex, schoolchildren and students from vocational schools competed. The first to finish in their groups were Alexandra Bezlyudova, Timur Popov, Angelina Grushi, and Pavel Sidenko.

A new category of starts this year was the ski race among sports veterans. The oldest participant of the competition, Vladimir Alekseevich Kazantsev, is 82 years old. Although he was not among the winners, he completed the distance quite well, setting an example for younger generations. By the way, Vladimir Alekseevich is a candidate for master of sports of the USSR in boxing and has been coaching for over 40 years.

Participants in the law enforcement category started powerfully, while the most numerous were the races among workers of enterprises and organizations of the Orsha district.

During the award ceremony for the winners and prize-winners, they were recognized in four age groups. Among the youth aged 20-30, the first places were taken by Ekaterina Smagina and Roman Komissarov, in the older category (over 51 years) – Galina Avdeeva and Eduard Drankov.

On the finishing stretch, support groups actively cheered for their colleagues.

The organizers took care not only of the sports component but also of creating a festive atmosphere. Hot tea and treats helped to warm up, and the musical accompaniment kept everyone entertained.

Congratulations to the winners and prize-winners on their well-deserved awards.
