The 26th Open Republican Wrestling Tournament was held in Orsha
On November 29, the XXVI Open Republican Wrestling Tournament for the prizes of the international class sports master Sergey Kitaev took place in Orsha. The competitions featured boys born in 2012-2015 and girls born in 2014-2015.
During the opening ceremony of the tournament, the athletes and their coaches were greeted by Sergey Kitaev, his first coach Mikhail Komarov, and the head of the sports and tourism department of the Orsha district executive committee Snezhana Bryuzgina.
More than 330 participants from Belarus and Russia competed in 16 weight categories from 26 to 86 kg on the mats at the sports complex "Olympiets". In this serious competition, the athletes from Orsha managed to rise to the podium several times, which indicates the high level of the local wrestling school.
Among the boys born in 2014-2015, Dmitry Tyapkin won in the weight category of 38 kg. The 2nd place in the weight category of 35 kg was taken by Luke Kirkiž. The boys are coached by Ivan Vlasov. The 3rd place was taken by the student of Ruslan Ivanov Timofey Rozanski (62 kg).
Among the girls, the bronze medal was won by Nikol Tarasevich, competing in the weight category (39 kg), coached by Irina Radkevich.
In the senior boys' group, the 3rd place in the weight category of 86 kg was taken by Yegor Matushevich, a student of Mikhail Komarov.
The winners and prize-winners received medals and cups of this prestigious tournament, diplomas, and memorable gifts.
