A festive rally was held in Orsha, dedicated to Airborne Forces Day
On August 2, the 95th anniversary of the formation of the airborne troops is celebrated.
Traditionally, a festive rally took place in Orsha on this day. But long before it began, the brotherhood of blue berets started gathering at the Mound of Immortality. At this memorial site, they honored the memory of their fathers and grandfathers who died on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War. Then, in a united column, they proceeded to the memorial sign for internationalist soldiers. Representatives of labor collectives, military-patriotic clubs, the public, clergy, and district leadership also gathered here.
The military commissioner of the Orsha and Dubrovno districts, Colonel Alexander Marchenko, the chairman of the Orsha district organization of the Belarusian Union of Veterans Aндрэй Бобраў, the dean of churches in the Orsha district, priest Dmitry Savushkin. They congratulated the winged brotherhood on the holiday, wished them strength of body and spirit, not to forget the glorious feats of paratroopers, and to be a true example for the youth.
The participants of the rally honored the memory of the guys who died during combat operations in Afghanistan and laid flowers at the monument.
