In Orsha, preparations for May 9 continue
The team of the Orsha special auto base continues work on the improvement of memorial sites for May 9. A large volume of work has been completed at the site near the monument to the liberators in the city center. Wet cleaning of the pedestal and the relief inscription "To the soldiers of the Soviet Army, partisans, and underground fighters – heroes of the battle for the liberation of the city of Orsha from the German-fascist invaders" has been carried out. The colors of the Order of the Patriotic War I degree have been updated.
The memorial complex "For Our Soviet Motherland!" on the banks of the Dnieper has taken on new colors, including the legendary Guards rocket launcher "Katyusha". With what love the flowerbed in the shape of a five-pointed star has been made here, for example. And the work continues. By May 9, it is planned to improve the Mound of Immortality and the monument to the workers of the flax factory who died during the war.
In total, more than 30 thousand seedlings of begonia, cineraria, ageratum, petunia, and other plants have been received at the Orsha special auto base. Mass planting of flowers begins throughout the city, primarily at memorial sites.
