A book by a Russian writer was presented in Orsha.
The work "20 Great Battles of World War II 1939-1945 " was presented by a member of the Russian Geographical Society and the creative association "Fatherland" under the Russian Union of Veterans, military doctor and combat veteran Sergey Ivanovich Polonsky. He emphasized that the book contains documents, photographs, and memories that can be used as an additional source of knowledge about the Great Patriotic War 1941-1945 .
– The book is addressed to a wide audience: from younger school children to college and university students. It will also be of interest to adult readers. We need to know the history of our people in order to preserve the memory of those who gave us peace, to know at what cost it was won, to honor the memory of great ancestors, and to understand and comprehend the situation that is currently happening in the world, – said Sergey Ivanovich.
The guest from Russia shared that with the presentation of the book "20 Great Battles of World War II 1939-1945 " he traveled to many Belarusian cities and, of course, was looking forward to meeting the residents of Orsha to get to know and learn more about the brotherly people. He also talked about himself and his creativity, conducted an engaging quiz with high school students. The most active participants of the meeting received a book as a gift with wishes and an autograph from Sergey Polonsky.
