In Orsha, Orthodox believers go for the Epiphany water

On one of the most important Christian holidays, the Baptism of the Lord, or Theophany, Orthodox residents of Orsha come to churches today to pray, light candles for health, and collect holy water.

On this day, believers remember the baptism of Jesus Christ in the Jordan River, as well as the sanctification of the water, which has since been considered holy and possessing special power. For many people, the tradition of collecting sanctified water is not just a ritual, but an important spiritual practice that helps strengthen faith and feel a connection with God.

Thus, today throughout the day, small queues are forming at the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Orsha near the vat of sanctified water. People are slowly collecting water to bring a piece of the holiday home.
