In Orsha, the results of the year‑long sports competition among student youth were presented.
At the Orsha College of Food, a solemn ceremony was held to summarize the results of the district year-round sports competition among student youth.
Young men and women from colleges in the Orsha region determined the strongest in eight competitive sports: volleyball, streetball, table tennis, mini-football, athletics, basketball, the "Health" multi-sport event, and cross-country running.
At the event, the best athletes and their mentors – physical education teachers – were awarded.
The awards to the winners were presented by the deputy chairman of the Orsha District Executive Committee Anastasia Prokofyeva and the head of the sports and tourism department Snezhana Bryuzgina.
Addressing the participants, Anastasia Adamovna emphasized the importance of sports in the lives of the younger generation:
– Today, in Belarus, great attention is paid to the development of mass sports and the physical education of youth. Sports cultivate character, discipline, and unite generations. It is through the spirit of sports that determination, diligence, and the ability to work in a team are formed in a person.
In the overall team standings among girls, the representatives of the Orsha College of VSU named after P. M. Masherov confidently took first place. The second place was taken by the athletes of the medical college, and the third place went to the students of the college of food.
Among the boys, the winners were also students of the Orsha College of VSU named after P. M. Masherov. The "silver" was won by the team of the Orsha branch of the State Educational Institution "BelGUT". The bronze medalists of the sports competition were students of the mechanical and economic college.
