In Orsha, athletes were awarded for high achievements on the international stage
The head of the Orsha district, Igor Moroz, presented gratitude from the Orsha District Executive Committee to athletes and their coaches for their high achievements on the international stage.
The Orsha resident Ksenia Kostenich is a pride of the specialized educational and sports institution "Orsha City Specialized Children's and Youth Olympic Reserve School." In 2024, Ksenia won a bronze medal at the junior world championship among athletes under 17 in Amman (Jordan). In July 2025, she became the European champion in freestyle wrestling among junior girls under 20, winning a gold medal in the weight category up to 50 kg. The championship took place in the Italian city of Caorle. She then repeated her success at the world championship. In August of this year, she won a bronze medal in the weight category of 53 kg at the world championship for juniors under 20 in Samokov (Bulgaria).
The gratitude from the Orsha District Executive Committee also recognized Ksenia's first coach Mikhail Komarov for his invaluable contribution to the training and development of the athlete.
High sports achievements in boxing are demonstrated by the student of the Orsha City Specialized Children's and Youth Olympic Reserve School Elizaveta Kapyl. She is the winner of the Republic of Belarus boxing championship among athletes born in 2009-2010. The talent and hard work of the girl brought her a silver medal this year at the European championship for athletes under 16 in Serbia. She competed in the weight category up to 54 kg.
Elizaveta was awarded gratitude from the Orsha District Executive Committee, as was her first coach Milana Fomina for her training, support, and development of the athlete.
