In Orsha, the military‑patriotic club "Prometheus" has started its work.
At the base of the Orsha College of Food, a solemn ceremony was held to open the military-patriotic club "Prometheus". It was created with the assistance of the State Committee of Forensic Expertise of the Republic of Belarus.
The opening ceremony was attended by the prosecutor of the Orsha district Anatoly Avsyuk, the deputy chairman of the Orsha district executive committee Anastasia Prokofyeva, the head of the Orsha interdistrict department of the State Committee of Forensic Expertise of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Mikalutski, his deputy Dmitry Ermakov, the rector of the St. Nicholas Church priest Alexander, labor veterans of the college, teachers, and students.
Patriotic education is a key aspect of shaping the younger generation. One of its forms is the activities of military-patriotic clubs. In the republic, under the auspices of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, military units, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and the State Committee of Forensic Expertise, more than 200 have already been created. In these clubs, young people acquire their first skills in military training, providing medical assistance, studying the history of Belarus and their native land, and participating in military-patriotic events.
– In our region, there are already a considerable number of military-patriotic clubs, but the opening of each of them is a special, significant event for each educational institution, — noted Anastasia Prokofyeva. – The most gratifying thing is that this is happening in the year of the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. For all of us, it is very important to preserve not only historical memory but also the unity of our people.
A significant event was the signing of an agreement between the College of Food and the Orsha interdistrict department of the State Committee of Forensic Expertise of the Republic of Belarus on cooperation and joint activities in the military-patriotic education of students, which was signed by the head of the Orsha MREO of the State Committee of Forensic Expertise Sergey Mikalutski and the director of the college Gennady Sinyavsky.
The club currently has 18 members, including three girls. These are first-year students of the College of Food. In the future, the number of club members will grow.
Physical and spiritual-moral development of the individual, studying the history of Belarus, fostering citizenship, patriotism, and love for the Motherland, and a respectful attitude towards the heroic past of the Belarusian people are the priority areas of the club's work. Under the auspices of the Committee of Forensic Expertise, career guidance work will be conducted with the students, preparing them for service in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. They will engage in drill, shooting, and military training, and learn the basics of hand-to-hand combat.
Guests warmly congratulated the students, wished them success, to be active, and to demonstrate all their skills, abilities, and knowledge that they will acquire within the framework of the club's activities, not only in district events but also to represent the interests of the Orsha region at both the regional and national levels.
In a solemn atmosphere, Anatoly Avsyuk presented the club's banner to the director of the college, Gennady Sinyavsky. The most exciting moments of the ceremony were the taking of the solemn oath by the club members and the rite of blessing the banner, which was conducted by priest Alexander.
