Orsha was hit by the snow cyclone Francis-Uli. The snow is falling without stopping. According to Hydromet data, a red level of danger has been declared across the country due to bad weather. Extremely difficult weather conditions have formed in the region.
– Extraordinary meetings of the emergency commission were held at the Orsha district executive committee. The order of interaction with all interested parties has been determined, and tasks for clearing the streets of the city and settlements of the district have been set, – says the head of the Orsha district Igor Moroz. – Communal and road services began clearing snow drifts on the evening of January 8. A total of 113 units of equipment are working on snow removal. Emergency services have also switched to an enhanced work mode. All enterprises and organizations in the Orsha district that have specialized equipment have been involved in snow clearing.
By the way, during the weekends, the hot line of the Orsha district executive committee is operational 8(0216) 51-12-12 from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Strong winds are creating large snowdrifts. On the morning of January 9, it was difficult for residents of the region to get to work and school. However, some did not wait for snow removal equipment and janitors, but took shovels in hand and started clearing the snow themselves.
According to the Orsha meteorological station, more than 16 millimeters of precipitation fell in the region from 9:00 PM on January 8 to 9:00 AM on January 9, which is an unfavorable meteorological phenomenon. The Francis-Uli cyclone is gradually losing its activity. Snow is expected at times during the weekend, but it will be followed by a sharp drop in temperature at night from -23 to -26 °C.
