The "Roads of Victory" event took place in the Orshansky district.
At the site of the military burial of Soviet prisoners of war in the village of Mitykovshchina of the Andreyevsky village council, the action "On the Roads of Victory" took place. Activists of the Orsha district branch of "Patriots of Belarus", members of the military-patriotic club "Yastreb" of Secondary School No. 16, representatives of the Andreyevshchinsky village council, and villagers planted seedlings of fir trees along the memorial sign as a symbol of eternal life.
The main organizer and ideological inspirer of the action was the large family of Nadezhda and Elisei Ilyinykh. Before starting to plant the trees, the chairman of the Orsha district organization of the Republican Public Association "Patriots of Belarus" Viktor Kolochov told those present about the military burial. Viktor Stepanovich noted that 147 Soviet prisoners of war are buried at this site. The names of 38 of them have been established, and thanks to the work of the Andreyevshchinsky village council, a memorial plaque with their names will appear on the monument next year. He also added that holding such events is important not only for our district but for the entire country as a whole. Today, it is our duty to remember history, to know the truth about past events, and to do everything necessary to ensure that the truth is preserved and the horrors of war never repeat on our land.
