In Novopolotsk, the Union State schoolchildren's sports competition "Olympic Hopes" has concluded.
From December 5 to 10, about 230 athletes from 13 regions of Belarus and Russia competed for victory in Neftograd.
For several days, fierce battles unfolded in the Ice Palace of Novopolotsk. The hockey teams showcased beautiful teamwork, precision, and speed. It was truly hot on the ice.
The weather made adjustments to the competitive program for the skiers, and instead of ski races, they faced a cross-country event at the Novopolotsk State College of Olympic Reserve.
At the solemn closing of the Spartakiad, the winners were awarded well-deserved medals and trophies.
– This Spartakiad is the beginning of your sports journey. You are the strongest! Love and respect sports, – addressed the young athletes the head of the personnel policy and ideological work department of the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Vyacheslav Shiparev.
The consultant of the department of physical culture and sports events of the Ministry of Physical Culture and Mass Sports of the Russian Federation Alexander Panov thanked the leadership of Novopolotsk for the high level of organization of sports events and leisure for the participants of the Spartakiad.
The most anticipated and exciting moment of the closing of the Spartakiad was the award ceremony for the winners.
Thus, in ice hockey, the first place was won by the team "Yaroslavich" (Yaroslavl region, Russia), second place went to "Yunost" (Nizhny Novgorod region, Russia), and third place was taken by "Arktur" (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Russia).
Among the skiers, the places were distributed as follows: in the team standings and mixed relay, the first place went to athletes from Gomel region, second place to skiers from Chelyabinsk region, and third place to the guys from Mogilev region.
The sports competitions are behind, and in the young athletes' collection, there are not only medals but also personal records, new acquaintances, and impressions.
