In the Museum of History and Culture of the city of Orsha, the exhibition "A kopeck saves a ruble" has opened.

At the Museum of History and Culture of the city of Orsha, an exhibition from the collection of the Museum Complex of History and Culture of the Orsha Region titled "A Kopeck Saves a Ruble" has opened, dedicated to the art of creating paper banknotes.

Each era is reflected in banknotes. The exhibition features state credit notes from the years 1905-1912, a collection of banknotes from the period of the establishment of Soviet power. A place of honor is also occupied by the notes of the State Bank of the USSR – new model chervonets featuring a portrait of Lenin, as well as monetary signs from 1938.

One of the most complete collections of paper currency in the funds of the Museum Complex is the collection of state treasury notes from 1961, reflecting the new monetary reform of the Soviet period. The monetary system of the Republic of Belarus is widely represented at the exhibition – coupons and payment notes of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus since 1992.

To enhance the perception of the exhibition, it is complemented by a range of items: abacuses, counting machines, wallets, savings books, figurines, newspapers, as well as literature on the topic of "Numismatics".

The project will not leave the townspeople indifferent, especially it will arouse interest among collectors, connoisseurs of unique items, historians, local historians, and will also allow schoolchildren and youth to learn a lot of new and interesting things.

The exhibition will last until March 7.
