In Minsk, the republican socio-cultural event «Marathon of Unity» is taking place.
The republican public and cultural action "Marathon of Unity" is taking place in Minsk. The chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Vladimir Kukharev, spoke about what surprises the marathon will bring to the capital, emphasizing the importance of unity for Belarus, reports the BELTA correspondent.
— "Marathon of Unity" continues. Today it has come to Minsk. The people of Minsk are very happy to welcome all participants. And it is very pleasant that indeed all people have approached the preparation of the "Marathon of Unity" in Minsk with great responsibility. Today there are so many proposals coming from enterprises, organizations, creative teams, educational institutions, all doing their best to show that we are together, we are united, — emphasized the city leader.
Vladimir Kukharev noted that maintaining unity is the key to peace and prosperity.
— We see today how restless the world is, how conflicts are occurring in many parts of the planet on an interethnic and religious basis. It is very important that there is none of that in Minsk, because Belarusians are a people who have been able to prove over millennia, while being at the crossroads of many paths, that they have managed to preserve their culture, their language, their uniqueness, mentality, — he said.
The chairman of the Minsk City Executive Committee emphasized that Belarusians are always ready to pass on their heritage to future generations.
— Today, as a sovereign state, we do everything to pass on to future generations all that has been gathered bit by bit by our ancestors. When the people are united, a strong, prosperous country can be made, — said Vladimir Kukharev.
He noted that the preparation for the marathon involved all layers of society.
— We received a lot of proposals. It is encouraging that many children's, creative, youth organizations are also participating here. Special attention is given to drawing and essay competitions, which will be presented at the exhibition in the "Minsk-Arena". These are works of art. Teachers say that the essays are deep, despite the young age of the authors, — said Vladimir Kukharev.
The city program of the "Marathon of Unity" covers more than 70 venues, including 15 exhibitions of Belarus's achievements over the past three decades.
— The attitude of creative teams is very important. People's artists share their experience with young colleagues. Six such master classes have been organized in the city. Special attention is given to youth initiatives. Interesting murals are being created, despite the winter. The youth said: "We need to" — and they did it. Events for young people will also take place in the shopping center "Stolitsa". For college students, "NOT boring NOT lectures" are organized. We are also holding an interesting concert "Minsk is united". It involves not only professional artists, — emphasized Vladimir Kukharev.
He noted that each venue will become a center of attraction and unification of people.
