In Belarus, starting in 2026, mandatory labeling of jewelry items using identification means is being introduced.
The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed decree No. 378 "On the Marking of Jewelry and Other Products" on October 21, as reported by BELTA from the press service of the head of state.
In order to ensure the legality of the circulation of such products, mandatory marking will be carried out using identification means starting from January 1, 2026.
According to the decree, marking will be carried out during the manufacture of jewelry and other products (except for individual orders), their importation into the territory of Belarus for sale, and export to countries with which agreements on mutual recognition of identification means have been concluded. A list of jewelry products whose circulation is allowed without marking and the methods of marking have also been defined.
Thus, the decree establishes new approaches to regulating the sphere of jewelry circulation, controlling the legality of their turnover from manufacture (import) to sale, contributing to the protection of consumers from unscrupulous sellers.
