A new regulator of the tourism sector will appear in Belarus. Lukashenko supported the proposal
The share of the tourism sector in GDP is planned to be doubled. This was stated to journalists by the First Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Snapkov after a meeting of the head of state with the leadership of the Council of Ministers, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
As previously reported, one of the topics of the meeting between the President of Belarus and the leadership of the Council of Ministers was the proposal to transfer the regulatory function in the tourism sector from the Ministry of Sports and Tourism to the National Tourism Agency. Nikolai Snapkov presented a report on the topic.
"Through a complex discussion, the leader supported the government's initiative, but with personal responsibility for achieving the result," said Nikolai Snapkov to journalists. "We plan to double the share of this sector in GDP to 4% with annual monitoring and result marking. And with personal responsibility for achieving the corresponding result annually."
According to him, the set goals are planned to be achieved, among other things, by reforming the sector into a real vertical and by the interaction of the state with business. The First Deputy Prime Minister also noted the multifaceted nature of the tourism sector, which interacts with 55 types of economic activities.
