The President's decree clarified the provisions on the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff.

The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed decree No. 36, which clarifies the provisions regarding the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Armed Forces. The document was adopted to bring decree No. 719 of December 7, 2006, in line with the Military Doctrine. This was reported by BELTA to the press service of the head of state.

In particular, the functions of the Ministry of Defense have been supplemented with provisions for implementing patriotic education activities in the Armed Forces, as well as for covering the activities of the Armed Forces in the media. In addition, the composition of the Ministry of Defense's board is clarified.

The functions of the General Staff have been supplemented with a provision for coordinating the activities of the military organization's power component on issues of ensuring military security and armed defense.
