CEC: each voter votes personally, voting for other persons is not allowed
Each voter votes in person. Voting on behalf of others is not allowed. This was reported by BELTA to the CEC.
— When filling out the ballot, in the square to the right of the candidate's surname for whom the voter is voting, or in the square to the right of the words "against all candidates," any mark should be placed, for example, a checkmark. A ballot in which a mark is placed in more than one square or not placed in any of them is considered invalid, — noted the CEC. — The completed ballot is dropped into the ballot box. It is prohibited to take the issued ballot outside the voting premises, as well as to take photos or videos of the completed ballot.
Violation of the established prohibitions entails the application of administrative liability measures in the form of a fine of up to 15 basic units.
No official confirmation of the reasons why a voter cannot vote on the main election day is required. Ballots are issued to voters upon presentation of a passport, identification card, biometric passport, military ticket (for conscript servicemen), service ID of a government agency employee (organization), or driver's license. Voting can also be done by presenting a pension certificate, disability certificate (if a photo is available), student ID of a student, or certificates from law enforcement agencies confirming identity (in case of loss or theft of a citizen's passport or identification card). If a voter makes a mistake or damages the ballot while filling it out, they can contact the members of the precinct election commission and receive a new ballot for voting. However, this right can only be used once by the voter.
The CEC reminds that taking photos and videos of the completed ballot for voting is prohibited.
Voters who wish to vote not at their place of registration but at their actual place of residence have the right to contact the precinct election commission at their place of residence by January 25. It should be noted that a citizen can be included in the voter list at their place of residence based on their passport and upon presenting a document confirming residence in the voting precinct.
