The opening ceremony of the XXIV International Chess Tournament took place in Orsha!

At the ORCK "Victory", a solemn ceremony was held to open the XXIV International Chess Tournament. 

More than 250 participants from 5 chess federations gathered on the hospitable Orsha land to compete in an intellectual duel of masters of logic and strategy!

Anastasia Prokofyeva, Deputy Chairperson of the Orsha District Executive Committee:

The international chess tournament is an event that brings together the best masters of logic and strategy. It is not just a competition, but a significant event that unites the best chess players, highlighting the importance of chess as a sport that generates great interest!

Nikolai Zarubitsky, Deputy Chairperson of the Belarusian Chess Federation:

"We are proud that many participants from previous years have become international masters and grandmasters, winning world champion titles! We wish everyone bright impressions and fair competition! May the strongest win!"

Anatoly Lebedev, Chief Judge of the competitions: 

"Thank you very much to the Orsha District Administration for their support and high level of organization! The tournament has become a good tradition that we eagerly prepare for every year"

At the opening, the best creative teams of the Orsha district performed - the atmosphere was truly festive!

The tournament will last a whole week, and the names of the winners will be known on January 25.
