The labor collective of the Orshansk construction trust No. 18 celebrates a professional holiday
On the second Sunday of August, builders celebrate their professional holiday. Among them is the labor collective of the Orsha Construction Trust No. 18.
Builder is one of the most noble and honorable professions. Everything that surrounds us, without which life is unimaginable, is made by the hands of builders. They create conditions for life, filling it with beauty and comfort.
Brick by brick, residential buildings, hospitals, kindergartens, shops, enterprises, and social and cultural facilities are being erected in the Orsha region. Those who have not been to Orsha in the last two years will not recognize the city upon their return.
Recently, the street of Konstantin Zaslonov has significantly transformed. The central street of Vladimir Lenin in the Heroes Park area has been adorned with a tall flagpole. A new residential quarter is being constructed in the area of Vladimir Lenin Street and Vissarion Belinsky. Here the construction trust is erecting apartment building No. 72 and a modern kindergarten. Near the agrotown of Mezhevo in the Orsha district, builders are conducting reconstruction of a dairy farm.
The current pace of work imposes increased demands on the quality of the constructed facilities. And it, as is known, directly depends on the skills of workers in construction specialties. Let’s talk about some of them. For example, about the 5th category bricklayer Vadim Kurilchik, who has been working in the construction industry for 23 years. In November 2022, under the guidance of Vadim Petrovich, a team of bricklayers was formed. Being at significant construction sites, it promptly solves the tasks set by the foreman. This year, Vadim Kurilchik and his colleagues are working on the construction of a residential quarter, specifically the construction of apartment building No. 72 and a kindergarten. The brigade's performance of production tasks is 110%.
Matching him is the 4th category concrete worker Andrei Kalinovsky. He is also far from a newcomer in the construction industry. He began his labor path in 1992 at PМК-73, then was transferred to construction trust No. 18. In 2008, he was appointed as the foreman of a comprehensive team of concrete workers. At the aforementioned construction sites, he is well aware of the situation, always thinks through the workflow, and only then acts. The brigade led by Andrei Gennadyevich always strives to create a backlog in work, exceeding shift tasks.
For special merits on Builder's Day, Vadim Kurilchik was awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Ministry of Architecture and Construction of the Republic of Belarus, and Andrei Kalinovsky received a letter of gratitude from the minister of the industry.
The workers of construction trust No. 18 demonstrate their skills on construction sites every day. However, if any technically complex and responsible work needs to be done at the site, it is entrusted to professionals like the 4th category painter Dina Kupchina.
– In this case, one can be sure that both construction materials will be used correctly, the quality level will reach a high mark, and labor protection will be observed, – noted the site manager Andrei Lipinsky.
This equally applies to the 5th category bricklayer Andrei Rozhansky. Andrei graduated from the Orsha State Vocational Technical School No. 110 in 2007. He tried himself as a security guard in the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, but after serving in the army, he decided to return to his profession. Since 2009, he has been working at the Orsha Construction Trust No. 18, demonstrating true craftsmanship.
What construction would be complete without a tower crane, which lifts heavy materials at construction sites, you may ask? In the Orsha Construction Trust, this question is certainly rephrased, saying, what construction is without crane operators, especially such as crane operator Dmitry Chepelov. This person skillfully operates the machinery. When lifting or lowering loads, Dmitry Sergeyevich takes into account not only their parameters and the crane's capabilities but also monitors the wind direction to understand how the slings will behave. His experience as a crane operator spans 21 years. He is a graduate of the Orsha State Vocational Technical School No. 110, class of 2006. He possesses skills as a bricklayer, plasterer, stove maker, and other construction professions.
On Builder's Day, Dina Kupchina, Andrei Rozhansky, and Dmitry Chepelov were awarded Certificates of Honor from the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
The same award was given to the 6th category electric gas welder Vyacheslav Mukhin.
And this is not the first recognition of his professional qualities. For many years of conscientious work, he has received awards from the Ministry of Architecture and Construction of the Republic of Belarus, the Union of Builders of the Republic of Belarus, and the Vitebsk Regional and Orsha District Executive Committees. He started in 2007 as an installer of sanitary and technical systems and equipment at the Orsha Installation Management Branch of OJSC "Trust Belsantekhmontazh". Since 2019, he has been working at construction trust No. 18. He is one of those who strive for the new and advanced, as he is responsible for welding work on metal, which is a large-scale, labor-intensive, and responsible process.
This year, in honor of Builder's Day, the Honor Board of the Orsha Construction Trust No. 18 has been updated. Among the dozen of leaders, the portrait of the leading engineer of the production and technical department Danuta Karmanova will also be displayed. Danuta Yuryevna has been working at the construction trust for 15 years after graduating from BSHA. She participates in the development and implementation of management solutions regarding the technical development of production and labor organization. She prepares tender proposals for the right to conclude contracts with customers and subcontractors, and resolves issues arising during production. In the team, Danuta is known as an active participant in cultural and sports events. Currently, she is helping her colleagues arrange a museum room where exhibits about labor veterans are collected, about those who laid the traditions and solid foundation for the development of the construction complex in the region.
The construction trust takes pride in its first manager Roman Kulayev, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, awarded the high title of "Honored Builder of the BSSR," and an Honorary Citizen of the city of Orsha. Under his leadership, from 1952 to 1957, Orsha builders constructed a school in the town of Bolbasovo, a House for Infants, two kindergartens, a district veterinary clinic in Orechovsk, industrial workshops of the sewing machine factory, the "Red Fighter" factory, the city library and hotel, and many other facilities.
The people of Orsha remember the names of other veterans who participated in the Great Patriotic War, including architect Georgy Garansky, an experienced urban planner who designed the Mound of Immortality. A significant contribution to how Orsha looks today has been made and continues to be made by architect Nikolai Smorchak – a student of Georgy Garansky.
At a solemn meeting dedicated to Builder's Day, it was said that the new generation of builders is worthy of continuing the glorious labor traditions of their grandfathers and fathers. 78 specialists and 15 labor veterans were awarded Certificates of Honor.
– On the eve of the holiday – Builder's Day, we once again want to emphasize how in demand and necessary the work of every builder is in our region. Considering the not always easy times that our native construction trust No. 18 has experienced, we still strive to maintain our reputation and implement significant projects for our city and our people, – noted the Deputy General Director for Economics of the Orsha Construction Trust No. 18 Kristina Vvedenskaya, congratulating her colleagues.
Plans for the future include issues such as updating the fleet of vehicles and machinery, the modernization of the "ZBIK Plant" branch for the production of reinforced concrete products for large-panel housing construction is nearing completion. OJSC "Orsha Construction Trust No. 18" strives to provide people with both work and decent wages, a good social package, various bonuses, and incentives for young specialists.
