New generation traffic lights with contour LED illumination have been installed on the streets of Vitebsk
Vitebsk continues to improve its road infrastructure by implementing modern technologies to enhance the safety of all road users. Recently, new generation traffic lights equipped with innovative contour LED lighting were installed and put into operation at the intersection of Zamkovaya and Kalinina streets. This was reported by the traffic police of the Vitebsk regional executive committee.
This innovation is not just an aesthetic improvement to the urban landscape, but also a significant step towards enhancing overall safety on the city's roads. The main advantage of such traffic lights lies in their improved visibility.
Thanks to the bright LED backlighting, the contour of the traffic light becomes more noticeable at any time of day, which is especially critical in conditions of insufficient lighting, early in the morning or late in the evening. Moreover, the improved visibility of these devices manifests in difficult weather conditions – during heavy rain, snowfall, or thick fog, when traditional traffic light signals may be less distinguishable.
This allows drivers and pedestrians to recognize signals in advance and more clearly, which contributes to timely decision-making and, consequently, reduces the risk of traffic accidents.
