Police officers remind about safety rules on the railway

The Internal Affairs Department of the Orsha District Executive Committee appeals to all citizens using railway transport services with a strong request to remember and strictly adhere to safety rules on railway transport.

For safe crossing of railway tracks, there are specially equipped pedestrian crossings, bridges, level crossings, and overpasses. If you have to cross an unguarded level crossing, pay close attention to the signals given by technical means. Make sure there is no approaching train within sight. It is strictly forbidden to cross a railway crossing when the traffic light signals a stop, regardless of the position and presence of a barrier.

Dear parents! Explain the safety rules on the railway to your children. Please do not leave young children unattended. Remember that listening to music through headphones, taking photos, or talking on the phone reduces vigilance.

The cause of road traffic accidents at railway crossings is the non-compliance with traffic rules by drivers of motor vehicles, and driving a car under the influence of alcohol.

A train cannot be stopped suddenly! Even using emergency braking measures, the engineer will only stop it after 800 – 1,000 meters.

The railway is not dangerous for those who follow safety rules, who are attentive and cautious, and disciplined in hazardous areas.
