Stay warm safely!
Special attention should be paid to stove and boiler heating during the cold season. Such heating is an object of increased attention. Therefore, monitoring the condition of heating systems is extremely necessary! Fires related to malfunctions or improper operation of stoves and boilers lead to significant damage, and often to loss of life.
Dear citizens, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds you of simple safety rules when using stove and boiler heating during frosts.
In severe frosts, it is recommended to heat the stove two to three times a day for no more than one and a half hours. This will help avoid overheating. Make sure that there are no cracks and gaps in your stove, and that the chimney has good draft. During the heating season, clean the chimney at least once every three months. Do not forget about the need for a non-combustible or slab material pre-heating sheet. Under no circumstances should you use flammable substances when starting a fire. If you are using boiler equipment to heat your home, remember that at low temperatures, pipelines can freeze, especially if they are located in attics or poorly insulated. Water stops circulating, which sharply increases the pressure in the boiler, and this can lead to an explosion. A large volume of steam released into the room can cause injuries and burns.
