Agriculture of Orshansky District

Activities are carried out in the district13 agricultural organizations, including two pig breeding complexes, a cattle fattening complex, a poultry farm and the "Teplichny" branch. Also working 37 peasant (farmer) farms.

Plant cultivation (37.6%)

  • Cereals and legume crops:124.5 thousand tonnes (yield 39.9 c/ha).
  • Rape:12.0 thousand tonnes (yield 19.2 centners/ha).
  • Main crops: wheat, rye, oats, long-staple flax, potatoes, rapeseed.

Livestock farming (62.4%)

  • Milk:102.4 thousand tons (milk yield 7085 kg per cow).
  • Meat (livestock and poultry):19.0 thousand tons.
  • Egg:152.4 million pieces (312 pcs per laying hen).
  • Population (as of 01.01.2025):Cattle – 46.4 thousand (cows 14.5 thousand), pigs – 90.0 thousand, poultry – 809.1 thousand.

Investment projects of 2024

Major repair of wastewater communications at the SHF «SGC «Zadneprysky».
Technical modernization of 2 cow barns, milking-dairy block and maternity department at KUSP «Mezhevo-Agro»
Construction of the 5th launch complex at OJSC «Agrocombine «Jubilee».
Commissioned (Dec. 2024):Dairy product complex near the village of Vysokoe (OJSC «Mayak Vysokoe»).
