The secret of a strong family from Yuri Gorbatovsky of Orsha
In Belarus, the Week of Parental Love continues, during which Father’s Day is celebrated on October 21. This holiday was first established by Decree No. 198 of the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, in 2022.
A journalist from "Arshanka" spoke with a father of many children, Yuri Gorbatovsky, ahead of Father’s Day, who shared the secrets of a strong family.
Yuri has been working as a mechanic in the repair service of factories No. 1 and No. 2 at the Orsha Linen Mill since 2010 and, together with his wife Ekaterina, is raising three daughters. He met his wife while studying at the mechanical and economic college, and since then they cannot imagine their lives without each other. Ekaterina works at the "OrshaSyrZavod" enterprise.
Yuri has always dreamed of a large family. And now, every day after work, he strives to go home. And this is not surprising. There, three beauties are eagerly waiting for him: 6-year-old Victoria, 9-year-old Sophia, and 14-year-old Daria. Vika is still in kindergarten, while her two older sisters study at secondary school No. 5 named after S. S. Pustelnikov.
Each member of this large family has their own interests. Daria loves to read very much. Her home library is constantly being replenished with new books. The girl also enjoys drawing. Sophia prefers active recreation. Her hobbies are dancing and cycling. Victoria diligently prepares for school and, like any child, loves active games.
The head of the family spends his free time fishing and attending home matches of the "Lokomotiv-Orsha" hockey club. Ekaterina spends a lot of time in their garden, growing vegetables and flowers.
On weekends, the whole family goes on small trips around the cities of Belarus. Starting from the summer of this year, they have made it a habit to go to Kopyss every Sunday.
– We all really like this urban settlement. We love to walk here along the eco-trail, breathe the clean air, and enjoy the silence. Every time we definitely stop by the local bakery, – said Yuri Gorbatovsky.
Everyone in the family has a bicycle. Therefore, parents often go out for walks with their children. They play badminton and volleyball together. They also participate in events held at the Orsha Linen Mill. Yuri is a member of the Youth Council at the enterprise.
– The secret of our friendly family is very simple: it is love, care for each other, and respect. It is also very important to spend as much time together as possible, to do household chores together, or just to relax, – shared Yuri Gorbatovsky.
